Deine Aufgaben
This is a hybrid, full-time position for a Structural Engineer at LIGNA systems, based in Sherbrooke, QC, with the flexibility for some remote work. As a key member of our team, you will play a pivotal role in the development and implementation of our timber building systems. You will be directly involved in daily tasks including calculations, structural analysis, and structural engineering, working closely with the civil engineering team using CAD tools to devise innovative solutions. The position requires openness to spending one to two months for training at our engineering office in Belgium.
- Consultation with architects, engineers, and developers on LIGNA timber construction systems across various project categories and sizes.
- Expansion of our internal network through the selection and acquisition of potential partner firms, general contractors, and system partners.
- Development of constructive solutions and construction concepts including calculation and proposal preparation, both domestically and internationally, with the support of our proprietary calculation software.
- Representation and external presentation of the company at trade shows and conferences.
- Internal coordination of orders within the team with handover to our in-house engineering office and project management.
- Close collaboration with the marketing department and management in the area of market observation and potential identification.
Was wir erwarten
- A completed degree in Civil Engineering or Architecture with several years of professional experience in project consulting or sales.
- Independent and self-responsible working style, including confident demeanor.
- Ideally, a background in structural construction with experience in systematic timber construction.
- Basic willingness to travel.
- Advanced English skills and prior knowledge of CAD programs (Cadwork) are desirable.
- Flexibility and enjoyment working in a dynamic team.
- Strong knowledge and experience in calculations, structural analysis, and structural engineering.
- Proficiency in civil engineering principles.
- Experience with computer-aided design (CAD) software.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
